Trophy Bassmasters of Kenton, Ohio completed its final points tournament of the year on Lake Erie on Sunday, October 5. This tournament was named the Steve Barker Memorial Tournament who passed earlier this year. Before the tournament started a moment of silence was observed in memory of Steve.
The weather was excellent for fishing, but not so much for catching. Only 31 fish weighing 65 pounds were brought to the scales for the 14 members competing.
Don Ratcliff took first place with 4 good bass at 10.51 lbs. as well as big bass of 3.12 lbs. Logan Barker managed a 5 bass limit of 9.86 lbs. to come up just short of victory. Logan is Steve Barker’s son, and I am sure Steve is pleased with his finish. Boyd Downey caught the only other 5 bass limit to finish with 9.69 lbs.
