11/02/25 Virgil’s Fun Tournament

Boyd Downey 3.33 lbs

Virgil Grant’s hosted the final tournament of the year on Sunday, November 12 at the public boat ramp (Anchor Pointe Marina) between Meinke’s Marina-West and Anchor Pointe Marina.

Boyd Downey continued his winning streak by winning last Sunday’s fun tournament. The weather cooperated and was decent for this time of year. After a chilly start, the weather warmed to be comfortable for most of the day. The bite was a little slow but some good fish were caught. Everyone caught bass.

Fishing area was within a 1-mile radius of the ramp. (Please refer to the 1-mile radius line drawn on the map below.) This allowed all waters inside of the marina to be fished along with some of the nearby Lake Erie shoreline.

Fishing time was from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.

This was a big bass tournament. Only the largest bass for each angler was weighed.

Entry fee was $5.00 which is a winner take all tournament pot. A special Trophy cup will be awarded to the winner at a later date.

Only members of Trophy Bassmasters were allowed to fish. Artificial lures only!

Virgil Grant was the tournament director for this event and his decision was final on all matters.
