Alum Creek 6/22/25

Logan Barker 1st place and big bass, Cody Barker 2nd place, Chad Asel 3rd place

Trophy Bassmasters traveled to Alum Creek Lake for the 8th tournament of the year. Technically the “dog days” of summer are not supposed to arrive until July, but we had an early taste of the hottest tournament of the year. Conditions were challenging, but we had a successful event. We started promptly at 6:00 am and with “weigh-in” at 3:00 pm. Last year 20 anglers caught 65 fish for a total of 105.01 lbs. This year 40 bass were landed by 14 fishermen for a total of 60.92 lbs. The average weight of each fish was down, 1.52 lbs vs 1.62 lbs last year. Alum Creek is heavily pressured and adding the weather conditions it was a good event for the club.

Logan Barker notched his first win of the season with a respectable 9.63 lbs which was less that his 9.71 lbs 3rd place finish last year. His partner Cody Barker grabbed 2nd place with 9.40 lbs. Chad Asel won 3rd place with 8.20 lbs to round out the top 3 spots. Virgil Grant moved into first place in the AOY race with his 4th place finish. Steve Ganger moved into a tie for 3rd place with Kelly Dearwester in the AOY race. Congratulations to everyone on a job well done.
