Perfect weather for fishing is usually the opposite of perfect weather for catching. The bright blue September skies added another level of difficulties for all of the anglers as we traveled back to Lake Erie for our 17th points tournament of 2026. The harbors were stingy and the islands even worse for the few boats that made the trip.
With the tournament year quickly winding down, Don Ratcliff seemed to put an exclamation point on the AOY race with his 5th 1st place finish this year. Don caught 4 bigger fish and big bass for the day with a 3.44 lb largemouthn. Kelly Dearwester placed 2nd managed the only 5 fish limit of the day. Steve Ganger took 3rd place with his 4 fish catch.
