The motion to have a “Heavy Hitters” tournament (motion passed 1-7-26). This will be a non-points tournament.
Trophy Bassmasters traveled back to West Harbor on Sunday, September 6 for the first Heavy Hitters Tournament. This was a completely different experience for everyone with a one fish limit. Essentially a Big Bass only tournament.
The weather cooperated, however, the Northeast wind @ 15 knots most of the day provided a challenge for the few brave souls who ventured out the islands.
Kelly Dearwester caught only one fish, but it was the one that was needed for the win. The winning fish as a respectable 5.17 pound largemouth. Stan Crawford, our newest member, made the bumpy trip to the islands to find a 4.31 smallie for second place. John Massara rounded out the top 3 with a 3.76 largemouth.

- $20.00 entry fee due before you can submit a 3 pound bass.
- Pay to Steve Ganger
- Catch and weigh at least 1 bass of 3 pounds or larger during a regular season event.
- Final tournament will be a big bass only format (only 1 fish will be weighed) scheduled for Sunday, September 6, 2026.
- Location to be decided at our club meeting September 2, 2026
- Payouts will be as follows:
- First Place 75%
- Second Place 15%
- Third Place 10%
- Starting order will be determined by the size of the qualifying bass from largest to smallest. (Motion passed 2/4/26)
- Motion to allow withdrawal with refund if qualified passed at meeting 4/8/26
- Location was added during the May club meeting.
