High School Sponsorship

The issue to explore sponsorship of high school members was tabled.

“Heavy Hitters” Tournament

The issue of having a “Heavy Hitters” tournament was discussed and passed. This would be a non-points tournament.

1. $20.00 entry fee due before you can submit a 3 pound bass.
2. Catch and weigh at least 1 bass of 3 pounds or larger during a regular season event.
3. Final tournament will be a big bass only format scheduled for Sunday, September 6, 2026.
4. Location to be decided at our club meeting September 2, 2026
5. Payouts will be as follows:
   • First Place 75%
   • Second Place 15%
   • Third Place 10%

Boyd Downey received the Trophy Cup for winning Virgil’s tournament last fall.

Membership applications were given to 2 prospective members for this year.

Updated Membership Application

Our membership applications are now available on the home page of our website for anyone to download. The link is near the bottom of the page titled “Join Trophy Bassmasters Today!”

During our regular club meeting held on Wednesday, December 3rd at 7:00 pm at the Kenton Masonic Temple the date of the Classic was swapped with the Detroit River tournament

Classic Tournament rescheduled for 2026 to 10-4-26.

The Detroit River for that date was rescheduled to 10-18-26

Our tournament schedule for 2026 has been approved pending permit approvals. We have scheduled 19 points tournaments.

Virgil Grant’s Fun Tournament

The Trophy Bassmasters of Kenton Ohio held a “fun” tournament at Meinke’s Marina near Toledo, Ohio on Sunday, November 2, 2025.

Bob Flowers Memorial Classic Tournament

The Trophy Bassmasters of Kenton Ohio ended their fishing season with the annual Classic that has been renamed as the Bob Flowers Memorial in honor of our recently departed brother earlier this year. We have dedicated a page on our website to remember Bob.

Boyd Downey rose to the occasion and found the smallmouth on Lake Erie on a windy day on Lake Erie. Boyd “ate” 5 waves over the bow to start the morning, but it was well worth the ride.

Virgil’s Fun Tournament 11/2/25

The final tournament of the year is a fun tournament sponsored by Virgil Grant.
