Lake Erie Results 4/12/26

Trophy Bassmasters kicked off the 2026 fishing season at Lake Erie last weekend.

Spring jumped into summer for the day greeted the anglers with calm seas in the morning. The catch rates reflected the good weather day as the 16 anglers brought in 64 keeper bass of at least 14”. Total weight was 180.563 lbs.

All were released alive. The big winner again this year Mike Johnson as he both won the tournament and had the big bass for the day. Johnson’s 5 bass limit of smallmouth weighed 19.30 lbs. with the lunker at 5.90lbs. With a very close 2nd place, Chad Thrush weighed in a 5 bass limit of smallmouth. Chad caught a respectable 19 lbs. Virgil Grand had 5 largemouth bass that weighed 17.51 lbs to claim the final spot on the podium.

Big Bass 2026

We only have 12 members entered in our Big Bass pot for 2026. It is $5.00 due now. Please pay Bert Grubs before the tournament year starts.

Tournament Boat Draws

The boat draw for the first 4 tournaments of the season we completed last night at our regular April meeting. Please see details on our HOME page.

Heavy Hitters Tournament September 6, 2026

We have 10 members signed up for the Heavy Hitters Tournament. Please see our website for details on how to qualify. Here is the LINK.

We will pick the location for the tournament at our May 6th meeting.

If you pay your entry fee of $20 and qualify, you may still withdraw and receive a refund before the tournament starts.

Membership

We now have 31 members in our club after 2 new members joined last night.

Please join us in welcoming Stan Crawford and Peyton Schafer to our club.

Big Bass 2026

Please do not share this password with anyone. Only members will be able to access all pages, however, friends and family can still see the tournament results.

Start of a new year and the club is going strong. We have 23 active members beginning the new year. Dues can be paid at any time for the upcoming season.
At the Jan meeting we will solidify any changes to the rules or bylaws. We will also put together the logistics for the possibility of having a Heavy Hitters type tournament during the 2026 season.
